Taking up Archery:

If you are interested in taking up the sport of archery as a hobby, then you must complete a training course. At Trent Valley Archers we carry out this training course spread over 6 weeks as 6 one hour lessons with qualified archery leaders. If you wish to contact us about taking up archery with us, please send an e-mail to secretary@trentvalleyarchers.co.uk , giving contact details.

Please be aware that there is a waiting list for lessons, and this will be addressed on a 'first come, first served' basis.

We also have a one time offer to each person to do a taster session prior to taking the full course. The cost of the taster is reimbursed though the costing of the course. This covers the very basics as an introduction to archery if you are unsure if you wish to take up the archery beginner course. This will allow you to try it out for yourself.

Self Improvement and Mentoring:

The only way to improve technique is to practice, and sometimes help from those around you is required, we operate intermittent mentoring sessions to help correct discrepancies in the techniques used by our members to improve their shooting.

Equipment Tuning:

Un-tuned or incorrectly tuned equipment can have a great negative affect on an archers shooting, when the equipment is properly tuned to the archer, the archers shooting will usually improve, unless the major faults lie with the archers’ technique. We strongly suggest you ask for advice or get an explanatory book, some of which are (or will be) available via our useful links section.
